During the Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 semesters at Hunter College, Professor Howard Singerman led a two-semester curatorial seminar, guiding student research and writing in advance of the exhibition Acts of Art in Greenwich Village on view in Hunter’s Leubsdorf Gallery through March 22, 2025.  In addition to their historical and archival research, seminar students had the opportunity to meet in person with a number of the artists and others associated with the gallery.

Along with the thematic essays they researched and wrote for the exhibition catalogue and the wall label texts that guide viewers to the exhibition, each student was charged to write in greater depth on a single artwork.  These individual essays are available as take-aways for visitors to the gallery and here on-line
